Vlog: Darcy Goes to War by Mary Simonsen + Giveaway!!

May I have this dance?

In my review I stated that Simonsen’s portrayal of Mr. Darcy is enough to make any girl forget her upbringing and manners. With the war taking place, Darcy seems to be determined to make the most of his time with Elizabeth. Here is just one example of his persistence.

It is probably a good thing Lizzy is driving the lorry. This might help her to maintain her resolve and not get involved with a man during the war. But can Darcy be ignored, especially when he is such a smooth talker, and irresistibly good looking?

  2. Jakki, That was wonderful. It made me want to buy the book. Oh, never mind, I already have a copy. I love your inflection. Just perfect. And the little bubble before the book cover appears, that's darn clever! Thanks, my friend.

    1. LOL! Maybe you could get a signed copy someday! ;) I was hoping viewers would like it & not notice my stumbles & my inflection was good. Sometimes, that can be the most challenging part. Glad you liked it! :)

  4. Sounds very interesting. A great vlog again, Jakki! Darcy sounds a lot ore straight-forward here, then in the original. Will need to read it, to see how it´s contiuning.

    1. Hi Katrin! I do like the shirt. :) He is a bit more forward here, but I guess it must be because of the war and the circumstances they were under. Hope you get a chance to read it! :)

  6. I love your dramatic style of reading. But I can't get over the fact that its Darcy who has to persuade Elizabeth to dance. Looking forward to finding out what he has to tell her.

    Thanks!

    1. Ooh, you do have a good point there, Sophia Rose! Their roles usually are reversed when it comes to dancing, huh?

  10. oooOOOOooohhh, I wonder what he wants to say to her? I know what I'd want him to say to me! ;) lol Love his persistence - very charming.

I always love when they dance together but especially in non-regency stories. The regency line-dancing has appeal for hand-holding and flirty gazes but I love when they get to REALLY dance together to other types of music.

You always do a great job with these vlogs, Jakki. I don't think I'd be brave enough to try it.

    1. LOL! I am sure we all want him to say the same thing to us too! ;)
I love it when they dance too, Monica, especially when the reader can feel the connection between them and the tension (be it sexual or dislike)!
