Review: Risky Surrender by Robin Bielman

Robin Bielman follows up her sexy debut novella, Worth the Risk, with this scorching tale.

Archeologist Lucy Davenport made a promise to her dying father to find the 16th century gold Tlaloc statue. Lucy’s dad believed the legend that the Tlaloc goddess would give life and sustenance to them, finally changing their lives. Can Lucy find the statue, and could the legend be true? There’s only one person standing between her and the statue: Keats McCall.

Do-gooder playboy Keats McCall is tired of women falling for his bottomless bank account. It isn’t until a sexy-as-hell mystery woman bumps in to him that he is more than intrigued…and suspicious. McCall realizes there is something different about his mystery woman, but could that something be unethical and possibly illegal? What is the story behind this beautiful siren? There is only one way to find out what Lucy is up to: watch her—day and night. But can McCall resist the temptation Lucy is proving to be?

Bielman knows the art of slowly building the sexual tension between a couple—to the point of near combustion. What starts out as Lucy and McCall taking each other’s measure turns into something neither of them were looking for. The true test of their mettle comes when both must decide between their jobs and their rapidly growing feelings. Is felicity is worth the risk?

I would not consider myself the outdoors type. However, after reading Worth the Risk and Risky Surrender, I may have to reconsider; Bielman brings a whole new level of hotness to outdoor adventures. Yet, that is not all Risky Surrender brings to the table. Both Lucy and McCall have personal struggles to overcome before they can find a happiness they never knew existed.

Risky Surrender is a spicy, quick read full of dynamic characters with inner and external struggles.
