"Friendship born of obligation, sacrifice inherent in integrity, and greater than all this is the power of love."
Miss Elizabeth Bennet, the daughter of a country squire,
befriends Miss Anne de Bourgh, a wealthy heiress. Elizabeth has no fortune, no
connections—nothing to recommend her but her wit and charm and her good nature.
She agrees to aid Anne in her quest to secure a marriage proposal from her
haughty, aristocratic cousin, Fitzwilliam Darcy of Pemberley and Derbyshire.
How could Elizabeth know the gentleman has his heart set upon another?
Darcy barely acknowledges his cousin’s existence. He knows
what his family expects of him, but he never suspected that Anne shared those
ridiculous expectations. He only has eyes for Elizabeth, the charming and witty
young woman, whom he mistakenly believes is expecting an offer of marriage. Truth
be told, Elizabeth does not even like the proud man—at least, not in the
beginning.
In spite of the bitter sting of Elizabeth’s rejection of
his marriage proposal when they were together in Kent, Darcy eventually arrives
in Hertfordshire with Charles Bingley in tow. He is determined to make amends
for his interference in separating his friend from Miss Jane Bennet as well as
earn Elizabeth’s good opinion. He not only gains her respect, he also finds a
way into her heart.
Will true love prevail? Or will Elizabeth allow a
friendship born of obligation to Anne stand in her way?
LOVE WILL GROW is a
sweet Pride and Prejudice what-if
story of friendship, sacrifice, and the power of love.

Read It Now!
I read a chapter of this on P O Dixon's website, it looks good. It is an original scenario, I don't think I've read a variation with Elizabeth trying to matchmake between Mr Darcy and Anne De Bourgh.

Yes, I agree with Ceri. The excerpt is tantilising and I long to read the novel. Thanks for the giveaway.

I think you are correct, Ceri. I do not recall having ever read this scenario before. Nothing like trying to help a friend and fall in love with the prospect yourself! Oops! ;)
ReplyDeleteLuthien, I hope you enjoy the novel!
Best of luck to both of you in the giveaway! :)

Hi Katrin! I also like the idea of Anne and Elizabeth being friends. Like Monica said, I like the idea of her having *any* friends!

DeleteI like the idea of Anne and Elizabeth being friends - actually, I like the idea of Anne having friends at all, because I always imagine her with only her mother and companion, and maybe the Collinses. And who wouldn't want to hang out with Mr Collins. I'm eager to see how Anne handles it when she finds out Darcy & Elizabeth are in love. Maybe I should pay more attention to the rude guys my friends like- perhaps they're secretly in love with me and not so bad after all ! lol :P

Lol! Here's to hoping your encounters with these rude guys fare much better than most. I can totally see you going all Lizzy Bennet on them with your wit and impertinence! :) You must also find out if any of said rude guys are wealthy! =)
